Ealing Croquet Club

Ealing had two entrants in the recent Roehampton Golf Croquet C-Level Tournament, Bridget Goodman and Jane Powell. The manager thoughtfully placed them in different blocks to keep them apart.

This ploy worked – for a while. Both ladies proceeded to win their blocks, meaning they met in the final. The game couldn’t have been more close-fought and intense, going down to the golden hoop. Jane was first in position to run it, but faltered, leaving Bridget to squeeze through and snatch the title.
